Herriad Church

Herriad Church sits between Basingstoke and Alton along side the busy A339. It is a quiet oasis to sit and watch the world go round. Below is a picture of a benchmark carved by the Ordanance Survey when they surveyed the area. These were carved into what they considered to be immovable objects to be permanent markers of heights above sea level.
